As we explained in the About rant of the website, we kind of think of record companies as being a bit of an anachronism in this modern arena of mostly home-recorded music, spoken word, and sound art which we operate in.
So, really more than a label, we think of Blue Tapes as being a sort of listening club. Or like a blog, but a blog which sends you tapes and visual art and other stuff every month that you can keep and treasure, instead of easily-deleted mp3s and words.
So, for £19.99 (or your international equivalent) you will receive our next four releases. One each month. Previously this used to be just £9.99, but didn't include the multi-tape releases, wooden boxsets, tapes that come with books, and other frankly weird things which we're increasingly specialising in. With the new price you get EVERYTHING. Which a lot of the times means we'll now be selling below cost, but hey, like I said, this isn't a business, it's a thing.
Our release for this month is blue six: Kellar
